According to Wikipedia (wikipedia.org), "Spyware Quake is a trojan disguised as spyware remover. It begins with a flashing icon in the system tray, informing users that their computer has been infected, and directing them to download anti-spyware software. The software suggested is, of course, Spyware Quake. It is related to malware such as SpyFalcon, SpyAxe, Spy Sheriff, and other variants. Spyware Quake is installed through the infamous VCodec trojan as well as various exploits."
